A holistic wellness brand needed product imagery that reads glass, liquid and label together, for every product page and for marketing. I built one bottle template in 3D, wrapped each flat label onto it, and exported the line from the same setup. When a render came back darker than the live image of the same bottle, I found out why, measured it, and wrote the correction down so the next render matches.

01
Build the bottle once.
The first proofs settled glass color, cap and spray head on a neutral studio sweep, with lighting tests from the same camera so each change could be judged on its own. Flat label artwork was then wrapped around the modeled bottle and checked from the front before export, so type stays straight and legible on a curved surface. The finished template exports each product as a square on white and as a transparent image; the same setup produced a twenty seven bottle marketing batch across the line.
02
The render that read darker.
A product render came back darker than the same bottle on the live site. The render's own embedded metadata showed the live image had come from the global master scene, not the per product file everyone assumed. Two saved settings differed: three reflector and backdrop planes hidden from render, and the compositor switched off. Restoring both closed most of the gap, to within two levels. Five other hypotheses were tested and ruled out: mix factor, premultiply, transparent glass, a light's energy value and the label export version.
03
A measured curve, not an eyeballed fix.
The residual traced to the render hardware. The original batch had rendered in seventeen seconds on a different GPU; the current machine renders the identical file about eight percent darker in the highlights, with shadows matching exactly. Rather than eyeball a correction, I derived a per channel tone curve from the live image's own luminance percentiles. After the curve, the render agrees with the live image within one level at every percentile. The recipe is written down so any future bottle rendered on that machine gets the same treatment.
