A thirty minute documentary that follows the painter Stoven through one day: obsession, doubt, broken work and the cost of making something honest. I directed, filmed and edited it alone, which meant every decision about trust and distance was mine.

Documentary produced, directed, filmed and edited by Will Mosley. An independent project, not a paid engagement.

Earn the room first.

The camera is allowed into a bedroom studio, a tennis court and a kitchen. That access was earned before the first frame, and the film protects it by never staging a moment.

Let the subject argue, and let the day carry it.

Long stretches are direct address: confidence, money, what a finished painting feels like. I cut for his thinking, not for pace, and let the clock structure the film so narration never has to.
