A short promo and a testimonial led film for Star Tribe, a community dance event in downtown Asheville. I planned the shoot and the edit so the same story could run on social, in ads and on the website.

Video production and editing by Will Mosley for Star Tribe and Billy Merritt.

The best part about working with Will is that he truly sees projects through to the end. He's brilliant, smart, hardworking, and extremely persistent in making the client happy.

The plaza full of dancers

01

Energy in thirty five seconds.

The promo moves from dusk crowd to DJ to dancers in quick, rhythmic cuts, then lands on the event card. A text free web hero version lets the footage sit behind a website headline.

02

Attendees tell the story.

The longer edit is built around short interviews with people at the event, set against dancing and night footage. I chose attendees over performers as the subject.

Formats planned from the start.

Every piece was delivered in more than one shape: 4:5 for feeds, 16:9 for the website and a separate cut for a Facebook ad. Deciding that before the shoot saved a second shoot.
